We learned how to cook Malaysian dishes from Aina, an international student from Malaysia, and enjoyed interacting with her in simple, friendly English.
For this special event, we all gathered to taste a Malaysian dish called "Roti Jala." The name combines the words Roti (bread) and Jala (net); it consists of a yellow, net-like crepe that you dip into chicken curry before eating. It had a distinctive coconut aroma and was absolutely delicious!
The event was filled with new discoveries and connections, offering participants a valuable opportunity to experience Malaysian culture. Through English presentations given by international students, we deepened our understanding of Malaysia's diverse culture, while sharing a meal allowed us to enjoy a genuine cultural experience. We plan to continue creating opportunities for cultural exchange like this, hosting activities that foster cross-cultural understanding and deepen our knowledge.
Information regarding the next "After-School International Culture Club" (regular session) and the latest international exchange events is regularly posted on the Earth Plaza social media channels and website. Please be sure to check them out.
Aina-san, thank you for a wonderful time!
